Photography: Port Willunga

We were heading south of Adelaide for some lunch, and out of random curiousity I searched online if there were any caves in the area. I saw there were some odd square looking cutouts in a cliffside by the beach not too far away (turns out they were carved out to be used as storage for boats and nets in 1867), and so we headed out. Wonderful weather for the day and was very glad to have the camera on hand, the caves led to some fun portrait shots using silhouettes (that I won’t be posting here sorry) and some really pleasant shots of the dilapidated jetty. Hope you see something you like!

I originally came here because I was hoping to get some photos for my recent post about using portable consoles in lieu of your smartphone. For a while I was just going around to nice looking locations with a few of these in my pockets, hoping I’d find a good shot for it. I’m proud of how these turned out, and pretty happy with how the post itself turned out too. I’d recommend reading it if you haven’t already!

It was just a silly little moment but I really enjoyed watching the waves roll in and out of these little formations. I somehow managed to capture a drop of water in the centre of that alcove and thought it looked cool!

Thanks again for looking at the results of my little beachside photography expedition. Lucky I didn’t end up running into the algal bloom that’s been haunting Adelaide’s beaches lately, but there was a surprising amount of dead fish in the sand. In spite of that I had a wonderful time in the sun watching the beautiful water, and I’m quite fond of how peaceful that final photo looks.

Peace – Beeem
