Photography: North Adelaide Day Trip

I decided to head out and take a little me-time not too long ago. There’s a few suburbs on the north side of town that I hadn’t really been to or explored before, so I grabbed my camera and a few snacks, and got out early in the morning. I accidentally planned a route that had me driving more than an hour between each destination so the day flew by and I was rightly knackered by the end. The photos turned out nice, and I was quite happy with my experience at the Gorge Wildlife Park towards the end of the evening. Please enjoy the surprising amount of birds on display!

Outer Harbour

I thought the ramp above this tower looked like it would be a secretly accessible area in a Tony Hawk or Skate game and it made me giggle. The half pipe to heaven.

I think these ships, about maybe a kilometre or two apart, make for a fun little show of the passage of time. The rust bucket is called Excelsior to my knowledge, and rests in the middle of this big paddy or mangrove.

Port Adelaide

In high school I really enjoyed photography, but for some reason (probably a terrible work schedule) I sort of faded away from it. It was only last year or the year before that I really started taking the camera out again, and I believe it actually started with a trip to Port Adelaide for their festival. I’ve always been really proud of how those photos turned out. Funnily enough that made it a bit harder to bring the camera back there, as I don’t see the point in taking the same photo twice, so I challenged myself to try and find a new angle to the town.

These are from the clipper ship, which I was devastatingly 10 minutes late to the last tour of. Mark my words, I will be back.

Gorge Wildlife Park

Welcome To The Menagerie

This was easily my favourite photo of the whole day, I just really like the strange angle and the light on its eye. If you’d like to know the species, no worries. I uh, forgot. But head to the park yourself and let me know!

Aurko’s Lookout

Thanks for looking!

A long post after an exceptionally long day. I appreciate you taking the time to meander through this gallery, and I hope you saw something you liked. Feel free to give me a recommendation of where to check out next. Never forget to be a tourist in your own city!
